£4000 has been raised for local children’s bereavement charity, Nelson’s Journey, thanks to a five-a-side football fundraiser from Orbit Homes.

A team of Orbit Homes colleagues joined lineups from construction firms across the region in taking to the pitch to fundraise for Nelson’s Journey, with a total of 16 sides playing on the day.

Premier Brickwork were crowned champions of the tournament, helping to raise £4000 for the charity in the process.

Nelson’s Journey helps thousands of bereaved children and young people across Norfolk, providing specialist services and resources, as well as working with schools and local organisations to raise awareness.

Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director at Orbit Homes, commented: “At Orbit Homes we’re committed to making a positive impact in our local communities and realise how valuable the support that Nelson’s Journey offers is to young people across the region. Our colleagues and contractors felt that this football tournament was a brilliant way for us to work together to contribute towards a great cause and we hope that our donation helps Nelson’s Journey continue to support young people in need.”

Gary Stevens, Funding & Marketing Manager at Nelson’s Journey, said: “It is thanks to the support of our local community that our work is possible, so we’d like to thank Orbit Homes and its partners for their donation, which will support us in helping bereaved children and young people across Norfolk.”
