Finding their place to grow with Shared Ownership at Enstone Leys, Oxfordshire
Hugh and Chrys were living in a privately rented cottage near to our Enstone Leys development in Enstone, Oxfordshire, but the need for a bigger space and more freedom to create a comfortable home prompted their decision to take their first step onto the property ladder.
Saving for their deposit was a challenging journey, but with a little help from family members, they were able to start their search for a new home. They chose Shared Ownership as it was a more affordable route to home ownership. The deposit required is based on the share that you buy, not the full market value, which means a smaller deposit and a smaller mortgage, and the flexibility to buy more shares in the future appealed to them.
They opted for a new build home: “Because we wanted to create a space that felt truly ours, with modern amenities and the ability to customise it to our liking. And with no property chain involved, the process was much simpler.”
Living nearby, they often passed Enstone Leys, nestled in the pretty Cotswolds countryside just on the outskirts of Enstone village, and having read positive online reviews about Orbit Homes decided to pay a visit: “Their professionalism and the quality of the homes impressed us.”
The couple chose The Radford, a 3-bedroom detached house: “It’s perfect for our needs with room to expand and shape our future needs.”
