Orbit Homes chocolate donation makes Easter egg-stra special for local charities

Chocolate donation by Orbit Homes makes Easter egg-stra special for local charities in the Midlands, East and South of England.

Employees and suppliers of the affordable housebuilder generously provided over 360 chocolate eggs, to be distributed to various charitable organisations.

Donations were made to the Daventry Foodbank run by the Vineyard Community Church in Northampton, Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services in Norwich, Borough Green Foodbank in Kent, and Erith Foodbank in Bexley.

Helen Moore, Group Director at Orbit Homes, said: “Following the success of our appeal for food bank donations in November last year, we wanted to hold a similar event and ask colleagues to donate Easter treats to be distributed to local food banks and charities. I have been delighted with the number of gifts we’ve received and whilst we recognise these sweet treats are only a small contribution, the generosity of our colleagues and suppliers will no doubt, make a positive impact on those using support services this Easter.”

Angela Gee, Senior Pastor at the Vineyard Community Church in Daventry, added: “We can only do what we do with the continued support of our community, and it has been a pleasure working with Orbit Homes once again. We know that the families who will receive these Easter Eggs will be really blessed. Sadly, the situation with food poverty is getting more and more serious and we are incredibly grateful for Orbit Homes in choosing to support us at this difficult time. Donations such as these help us to help those who are having to make some incredibly hard decisions around whether to pay rising bills or literally feed themselves and their children.”

Ian Simpson, from the Borough Green Foodbank in Kent, commented: “I want to thank Orbit Homes colleagues for providing so many Easter eggs to our food bank, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. We will be distributing the eggs between the 28 families that we are currently supporting in Borough Green, Wrotham, Platt and Ightham. The donations will reach more than 60 children and young people, who will very much appreciate receiving a little luxury at this time of year.”
