Orbit Homes donate proceeds of furniture sale to charities in the East
Orbit Homes staff in the East found an excellent way to make use of ex-show home furniture that has resulted in almost £1,000 being donated to local causes.
Following the completion of our very popular St Anne’s development in Norwich, the ex-show home furniture, which was no longer needed, was offered to Orbit Homes staff in exchange for donations.
Exceeding all expectations, the generous donations raised almost £1,000 and the decision was made to give back to the community and split the proceeds between local organisations.
- £500 was donated to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
- £250 was donated to the Attleborough Fun Fest Team, a local organisation that raises monies for community events in the small market town of Attleborough, where our Newlands development is located.
- £200 was donated to Black Country Blokes, an organisation dedicated to men’s mental health.
The furniture and ornaments left over from the sale, were donated to the Benjamin Foundation Charity Shop in Norwich. The Benjamin Foundation supports young people who are facing challenges such as homelessness and mental health issues by delivering a range of services, helping them to feel supported and empowered to cope with their unique challenges.
We’re proud to have made a small difference to the local community and at the same time, repurposed furniture that would otherwise have been put in storage and left unused.
