Orbit Homes donations to help Norwich Open Christmas spread cheer this Christmas to those in need
The annual Norwich Open Christmas celebration has received a festive boost, after colleagues from local affordable housebuilder, Orbit Homes, donated a host of food and essential items to the charity’s collection.
Colleagues at Orbit Homes collected a variety of non-perishable food, chocolates, sweets and cakes alongside essential items such as warm clothing and toiletries to help ensure that those in need in and around Norwich all have the chance to celebrate Christmas.
The donations will contribute towards ‘Norwich Open Christmas’ – an annual event which takes place on 25 December to give people who are alone, homeless or in need a Christmas celebration including a Christmas dinner and festive entertainment, as well as food parcels and clothing.
Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director at Orbit Homes, commented: “At Orbit Homes we’re committed to making a positive impact in our local communities and we understand how important Norwich Open Christmas is to the local area. We hope that our donation helps Norwich Open Christmas make Christmas Day special and enjoyable for everyone in the community, regardless of their circumstances.”
Bill Ashton, Chairman of Norwich Open Christmas, added: “For over 30 years Norwich Open Christmas has supported those facing homelessness and loneliness at Christmas. With food banks facing unprecedented pressure our support is now more important than ever, and we are grateful for this donation by Orbit Homes which will help us serve those who need it most this Christmas.”
Norwich Open Christmas 2024 will take place at the King’s Centre in Norwich from 11am to 5pm. Information on donations to support the charity can be found at www.norwichopenchristmas.org.uk/how-to-donate.
