Orbit Homes launches new safety campaign: ‘Look after your mates’
We have launched a striking new site safety campaign to encourage colleagues to ‘look after their mates’ when working on site.
The campaign is designed to further reinforce our existing health and safety procedures by encouraging site teams to take responsibility for their own safety, look out for each other, point out bad or unsafe practice and take note of colleagues’ mental health.
As part of the campaign a series of posters will be displayed across all Orbit Homes construction sites, each featuring some of the most common construction hazards, such as correct use of PPE, leaving site safely, dust suppression, slips, trips and falls, and mental health awareness.
New Orbit Homes colleagues will also learn about the campaign as part of their induction to help ensure ‘looking after their mates’ becomes second nature, whilst the campaign ID badge will be displayed on all new high vis jackets to ensure the message stays front of mind at all times, so everyone can #GoHomeSafe.
Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director at Orbit Homes commented: “Nothing is more important to us here at Orbit Homes than the health and safety of our colleagues and those on site. Whilst we already have rigorous health and safety procedures in place, we wanted to take it one step further to ensure we’re doing all we can to prevent unnecessary accidents and near misses on site.
“Our ‘Look after your mates’ campaign asks all colleagues to commit to keeping each other safe in a friendly and approachable way. Only by working together can we prevent accidents and ensure the safety of our teams, whether that’s physically or safeguarding their mental health.”
